This Is The Place
The pictures below are of the exact spot where Brigham Young
declared
"This is the right place...... drive on".
The site is about 500 Feet North East of the main monument.
The view of the Salt Lake Valley & the Oquirrh Mtns looking
Southwesterly from the exact spot
would have been one of Brigham Young's first views of the Valley.
Note the main monument about 500' in the distance.
Keep in mind that the valley would have been barren
and the green grass & trees would be less green in late July.
These pictures were taken in early June.
